Flash Cards

Flash cards can come in many shapes and sizes and the storage capacity can range from 1 GB to 34 GB. They can be used to store data and can be put in phones and cameras so digital stills can be stored on it.








CD Rom

CD stands for compact disc. They store up to 700 MB of dataCD's can be used for multimedia applications such as encyclopedias and can store pictures, sounds and video clips or anything else that will fit.










External Hard Drive

An external hard drive can store very large amounts of data, eg 1 TB, and can be plugged into your computer via a USB or Fire-wire port to provide extra storage. 







USB Drive


A memory stick can be used in a similar way to a floppy disk but it is inserted into the USB port. It is then seen by the computer as a removable drive. They typically come in sizes from 512 MB to 32 GB.
