1. What is new and emerging technology? (research)

There are two new consoles coming out soon which are called the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4. Microsoft are introducing the Xbox One this year on the 22nd of November this year. Sony are realising there console on the 29th of November this year. These consoles are called the next generation consoles.

There is a new device created called "Google Glass", this is a type of glasses to view social media feeds, text, Google Maps, as well as navigate with GPS and take photos. The cost of this product will be between £1000 - £1500. It is practically a wearable computer. It is hands free and is controlled by voice control.

There is a new type of printer now which is called the "3D Printer". This type of printer takes an image off a computer and prints it as three dimensional object. This printer was created in New York, it was created by a man called Chuck Hull. The 3D printing technology is used for both prototyping and distributed manufacturing in architecture, engineering and construction.

The newest type of car is called "the Google driver less car". The software powering Google's cars is called Google Chauffeur. The person who created this car is called Sebastian Thrun. These car are safer than professional human drivers. Also this car keeps a better distance from other cars than human drivers. In the event that an accident occurs car's data can be used to create an annotated map of the surroundings which can prove what actually happened.

2. Changes in Output media products

large flat screen / Smart TV :

The changes in TVs over the past twenty years has been extravagant. TVs used to only have a selected amount of channels, very bad graphics and also they used to be very big and inconvenient as they took up quite a bit of space in a room. Now in 2013 they have changed greatly. There is thousands of channels to chose from on the new flat screen and smart TVs as there are many different channel providers such as Sky and free-view. The graphics have change a great deal as we went from AV to HD 1080p. Now TVs are not much wider than 10cm and can be mounted on walls so they practically take up no space at all. With the development of the smart TV's there are even more possibility's to be discovered, there is even built in webcams and microphones so you can communicate to your friends and family through your TV.

Printer Technology : 

Printing technology has change in many ways over the past few years. For example printing used to be a very slow process with a dot matrix printer but now anyone could have a fast and reliable printer at there house which would be an inkjet printer. The new printing technology is very expensive but can be very rewarding, it is the technology of 3D printing which prints out three dimensional objects.  

Mobile Phones :

The change in mobile phones over the years have complexly changed both the appearance and the software controlling mobile phones. They have changed from a brick shaped phone to a conveniently sized phone that easily fits in your pocket. Some mobile phones have so many uses that they are very similar to computers.

Consoles :

Consoles have came from very basic single player consoles to HD multi-player experience gaming consoles. They are mainly used by the younger generation between age 8 - 18. Even handheld consoles are changing, they used to be very basic small screen consoles but are now big LCD touch-screens hand held consoles.

3. Effect these are having on creating / changing graphics.

The graphics have changed in tvs from DOG (digital on screen graphics) to 1080p graphics. With the development of HD channels, the graphics for viewers are getting even better. With the development of new printers the quality of images that can be printed are now to a greater quality and 3D objects have been able to be printed. The new mobile phones on the market changing graphics as they can load the latest videos in 1080p and create/edit images with certain applications on there phone. With the next generation consoles out they are producing more and more realistic looking games for the viewers entertainment.
