Suitability
of Software
The
software package that I used to edit my photos was a online program called “Pic
Monkey” I believe that this program was very suitable as it had all the
necessary tools required to edit, crop, rotate and do many other actions as
well. I chose Pic monkey as it had a very user friendly interface and was very
easy to learn how to use all the tools and how to navigate around all the
different sections of the webpage. As this software package was free to use
there where some features you could not use if you did not purchase a premium
account which could have been useful in the editing of my photos as there where
many more filters and layers with a premium account.
File
Formats
Once I had
scanned my images on the scanner and saved them onto my hard drive I save them
as PNG format as the image is at a good quality when saved at this format. When
I took this image into Pic monkey and was finished editing it I saved it as
JPEG format as I believe this is the best quality to save an image on for
webpages such as my blog. Saving the picture in this format increased the size
greatly which means it will be slower to load on webpages but it will be to a
greater quality than saving it as a PNG format.
Image
Resolution and Colour Depth
In Pic
monkey I believe that the resolution is to a good quality although there is
only three different options on which to save your image as. In other programs
such as photo shop CS5 there is more of a variety as you can chose your own
resolution. The higher resolution you chose in pic monkey increases the size of
the image but also increases the size of the file which can mean it is longer
to upload/ view on websites and blogs. I saved all three of my images at the
highest resolution and quality which has given the images great colour depth
which makes them look very realistic. With the colour depth being so great it
has helped to blend one image into another as it links in well. The variety of
colours in Pic monkey really helps the images have great coloured text over
each image.
Conclusion
When we
began to take photos and scan photos I didn’t think that the two photos when
put together would look realistic and fluid. After doing a bit of editing with
both photos I discover that the two images together blend in very well and have
turned out to look like a very realistic images. This is because of the use of
the cropping tool and being able to take out any bits of the image that doesn’t
blend in. Also the use of filters help to make the whole image look like one
image. In conclusion I believe that all three of my photos have turned out to
be at a high quality and I am very happy with them.
